A picture says more than 1000 words...
which is why we show here some examples of analysis conducted with the FXA-method.
As we emphasize confidentiality in our cooperation, on principle we do not show images which would allow conclusions on certain persons, manufacturers or products.Sample images and analysis of the lumbar spine (2):
Initial functional X-ray in Flexion
Sample usage of markers (landmarks, yellow) in the segment L1-2. The landmarks are not required for analysis, however, clearly show the path of relative motion.
Measured Range of Motion in L1-2=8.8°.
L3-4 Range of Motion = 0°
This segment shows no rotation, only very small translation.
Example of a well aligned segment L3-4 with neither a static nor dynamic listhesis.
and Extension
L1-2 Center of Rotation (green dot in the middle).
The location of the Center of Rotation is outside the physiologic area, which indicates a degenerated status of the segment. This would be not as clearly visible when looking at the X-ray images alone.
L1-2 Center of Rotation (green dot, not visible as it is outside the image area).
The CoR is far away as literally no rotation takes place. This indicates a fusion between the segments L3-4.
Automatic classification according to the Meyerding classification. Shown is a spondylolisthesis grade 1 in the segment L4-5
